To manipulate a modeled bar joist by increasing the span

Select

(Place Bar Joist).

The Place Bar Joist, modeling dialog for mode selection appears with the default Place Single mode.

Select Mode > Manipulate Joist.

Select the bar joist to manipulate.

The AccuDraw Compass origin appears at the bar joist's first placement point.

Dynamically move the second endpoint to a location beyond its original position, and data point to accept.

The Modify Bar Joist dialog opens, and the temporary construction elements appear attached to the bar joist.

Note: In the Properties list a new Series is automatically selected with the appropriate depth and span configurations.

Click Manipulate.

The manipulated bar joist is placed.
